Ranchi: A teacher of Sapphire International School in Ranchi has been arrested for allegedly killing a class VII student. The student was reportedly in love with 11-year-old daughter of the teacher.
A teacher of Hindi, Nezma Khatoon, allegedly killed the student as she did not approve of his feeling for her daughter.
The body of the class VII student, Vinay Mahto, was found outside the residence of the accused teacher, who lived with her family.
The Ranchi police have arrested Khatoon and her family, including husband and two children.
The case was cracked reportedly with the help of CCTV footage.
According to reports, over 17 teaching and non-teaching staff were questioned by police in connection with the case. Three teachers and boys' hostel warden were also detained for interrogation by police.
A team of CID and forensic experts had even camped inside the school campus for the probe.
