Randhawa wins Thailand Open by two strokes
Jyoti Randhawa has added an eighth Asian Tour trophy to his kitty.

New Delhi: As he holed the final putt, Jyoti Randhawa heaved a sigh of relief. There is no doubt he was waiting for that one elusive win on the Asian Tour desperately for the past two years.

The two stroke win in the Thailand Open is sure to have boosted his morale tremendously.

"I thought I could win the tournament, but in the back of my mind I thought the way the golf course was set up I could shoot some low numbers here. And I came out to win so I'm glad I did that," says he.

Jyoti has been struggling since his Indian Open win in 2007 and has been emphasising on preparing differently for tournaments this year. And that clearly seems to have helped him.

"I need to relax a bit. You don't practice and work hard during tournaments, you do it before that. I came here, I swam, went scuba diving and I enjoyed myself. I won the golf tournament, I learnt a lot so I need to do this more often," says he.

Back home for a few days, Jyoti will now be heading for his European Tour commitments. Expect him to continue with his relaxed approach in Europe as well.

However, whether he'll get to surf or scuba dive in the cold climate there remains the big question.

What's your reaction?
