New Delhi: The superhit film Rang De Basanti reigned at the 10th Zee Cine Awards function in Genting Highlands, Malaysia on Sunday evening.
While Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra walked away with the Best Director award for the much-acclaimed film, Rang De Basanti also bagged the Best Film, Best Editing (P S Bharthi), Best Cinematography (Binod Pradhan), Best Music Director (A R Rehman) and Best Lyricist (Prasoon Joshi) awards.
Lage Raho Munnabhai was not far behind Rang De Basanti , bagging six awards including Best Screenplay (Rajkumar Hirani/Abhijit Joshi), Best Dialogue (Rajkumar Hirani), Best Story (Rajkumar Hirani/Abhijit Joshi), Best Actor in a comic role (Arshad Warsi), Critics' Award-Film and Critics' Award-Actor (Sanjay Dutt).
While Hrithik Roshan clinched the Best Actor award for Krrish, Kajol took away the Best Actress award for her performance in Fanaa.
In the Best Supporting Actor category, Konkona Sen-Sharma and Abhishek Bachchan walked away with the honours.
The chartbuster number Beedi from the film Omkara won the Best Popular Track of the year award.
Hosting the event was none-other-than star filmmaker-anchor Karan Johar along with actor Saif Ali Khan and actresses Urmila Mantodkar and Shilpa Shetty in tow.
The evening saw a power house of performances with Preity Zinta, Aishwarya Rai, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan sizzling on the stage.
