BHUBANESWAR: The 16-year-girl, who was allegedly gangraped on Wednesday night near Baramunda Bus Stand, underwent medical examination on Saturday. Khandagiri Police which had dropped her at the short-stay home before the matter came to light tried to record her statement but the girl did not open up about the incident. Police suspect she may have been under shock and trauma. The girl’s father also arrived but she did not speak about the incident either. Police also quizzed the caretakers of Swadhara, the short-stay home where she was lodged. Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjit Singh said a case is being lodged in this connection and investigation will be conducted. The girl had allegedly been gangraped in a house near a cycle stand close to the bus stop.
