Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani pays rich tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam

Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Mukesh Ambani paid rich tributes to former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam who breathed his last in Shillong on Monday evening.

"A visionary and compassionate thought leader, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam inspired the youth and the cross section of society as a passionate knowledge seeker and an ardent proponent of inclusive development. Through his phenomenal achievements as a scientist and a statesman, he symbolized the possibilities and the power of the human spirit and touched the hearts and minds of millions of people. We salute this illustrious son of India who will continue to inspire the generations to come," said Nita Ambani.

Kalam was delivering a lecture at the Indian Institue of Management, Shillong on Monday evening when he suffered a cardiac arrest and died. Kalam was the 11th President of India and a scientist who is credited with the success of nuclear tests at Pokhran in May 1998 and the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP).

He was a very popular president and served the office from July 25, 2002 to July 25, 2007.
