Removal of footpath intrusions

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will take up a special drive to remove illegal encroachments on footpaths and parking violations from July 18. This comes in the wake of action taken report sought by the High Court and Lok Ayukta on steps taken by the GHMC. GHMC officials said demolition of encroachments on footpaths will be taken up on busy stretches like like Koti road, Khairatabad-Erragadda, Liberty crossroads-Nallakunta, Ameerpet-Greenlands and Banjara Hills.Similarly, the civic body will also take up demolition of parking violations in commercial complexes, hotels and restaurants.
