SABARIMALA: The eight-day long Vishu festival at Lord Ayyappa Temple concluded with the closure of the sreekovil on Wednesday evening.Laksharchana, sahasrakalasam and kalabhabhishekam were the special rituals held at the temple.As part of the laksharchana, Thantri Kandararu Maheswararu performed the brahmakalasa pooja at the nalambalam of the temple at 8 a m after the usha pooja in the presence of Melsanthi G Balamurali.The ritual concluded with kalasabhishekam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during uchcha pooja.Both sahasrakalasabhishekam and kalabhabhishekam were also conducted during the uchcha pooja.Udayasthamana pooja, pushpabhishekam and padi pooja were held at the temple.The temple closed at 10 p m after athazha pooja and Harivarasanam.Temple to Reopen on May 14 The temple will be reopened for the five-day monthly pooja for the Malayalam month of Edavam on May 14 evening.
