The deputy commissioner of police Ch Srikanth told City Express that at least 1,200 personnel would deployed as a part of security measures in the city. This would include 10 teams of special weapon and tactics (SWaT) and Task Force teams. “Check posts will be set up all major points across the city and roads leading to Parade grounds, where the police will take up frisking and vehicle checks. Security arrangements will be in force till August 16 morning,” the DCP said. Police will not allow water bottles, tiffin boxes or any other material inside the venue. Sources said the IB has issued a general alert and there is no specific input of any terror strike that day. The city police too has imposed traffic restrictions near parade grounds to facilitate proper regulation of traffic. These restrictions will be in effect from 7 am to 11 am. The road from cantonment garden to SBH cross roads will be closed for all vehicular traffic in the above mentioned time. The entry on SP road between central telegraph crossroad and YMCA crossroad will be a one-way between 7 am and 11 am. Cars having passes will be allowed from the CTO junction towards YMCA before the parade commences and in the opposite direction after its completion.   All invitees coming in vehicles with  AA, A-1 and B-1 car passes from Begumpet can proceed via Rasoolpura Junction and those coming from Upper Tankbund and Ranigunj can proceed via M.G.Road/Parklane. 

Cars without passes will come via R.P.Road and proceed up to St. Ann’s School.  Scooters and cycles can be parked at Siddanthi College Lane near Lamba theatre. Duty car pass vehicles may be allowed to park at Gymkhana grounds. After completion of the parade, vehicles with AA, A-1 and B-1 passes will leave through SP Road towards plaza junction /telegraph island. Vehicles with A-2 pass will leave towards Tivoli crossroads and cars with B-2 pass will leave towards SBH Junction. The Ambulance and Fire Brigade will be parked behind the Parade Formation.

The invitees having car passes “AA, A-1 and B-1” coming from Hyderabad Side /Begumpet and Panjagutta, coming from CTO flyover after 8:50 am will take a deviation in front of Chillah Dargha (near Plaza Junction) and go on to the wrong side of the Road and proceed to the swimming pool side and walk by the slip road in front of the Main Gate.
