New Delhi: The third accused in the Shehla Masood murder case Tabish has been remanded to CBI custody till the March 26. The Uttar Pradesh STF picked up Tabish, who is also a close aide of alleged contract killer Irfan, on Monday.
Tabish, who is supposed to be a crucial link in the case, was arrested from his Bekanganj residence based on the inputs given by Irfan during questioning, STF circle officer Triveni Singh said, adding that he has been taken to Lucknow for further interrogation.
He is suspected to be the key supplier of arms to Irfan, an alleged contract killer who was arrested here on February 27.
During questioning, Irfan had confessed that he and two others were paid Rs 3 lakh for killing the RTI activist in Bhopal last year, police had claimed. He is currently under CBI custody in Indore.
Irfan had revealed that he along with Shanu Alaunga, a sharpshooter who was shot dead in an unrelated incident in November last year, and one Salim had been paid Rs three lakh by a Bhopal-based person to carry out the murder.
