KHAMMAM: About 70,000 workers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited in Khammam, Warangal, Adilabad and Karimnagar districts have decided to go on strike from Monday as the SCCL failed to concede all the 40 demands put forth by the AITUC.According to AITUC leaders, the Singareni management agreed to only 15 demands of the workers. Following the failure of talks between the management and workers union leaders, the AITUC issued a strike notice. But the SCCL management did not respond to it. The main demand of the AITUC is distribution of 25 per cent of the profits earned by the SCCL among workers.At present, the SCCL is distributing only 16 per cent of the profits among workers.CITU, IFTU are supporting the strike while INTUC and T Coal Workers Association are not.
