KEONJHAR: The flood situation in Keonjhar continues to remain grim. One person died on Thursday and another critically injured when a wall collapsed due to heavy rain at Khuntapada village under Telkoi block here.The deceased has been identified as Chandra Munda and the injured Cha Munda has been admitted to a local hospital.While several roads have been submerged under flood water, the NH-6 from Kolkata to Mumbai has been cut off at Turumunga due to flood in Baitarani river.Naranpur-Duburi state highway has also been cut off at Basantapur due to the swelling of river Kalinjara. Vehicular communication has come to a standstill at Keonjhar and Patana with flood water flowing above the roads.At Anandpur, river Baitarini is flowing at 39.25 metre against the danger mark of 38.60. As many as 200 villages in Hatadihi and Ghasipura blocks have been severely hit. Ten houses have been damaged in ward no 12 in Joda Municipality while 40 houses collapsed in Baxibarigaon village of Harichandanpur block.
