New Delhi: The stroke of luck continues for the child actors of Slumdog Millionaire.
Just weeks after the BMC demolished their homes in suburban Mumbai, the child stars of Oscar winning film have been relocated to flats allocated by the Maharashtra Government in the Malad suburb of Mumbai.
The actors will also be getting a second set of flats from the Jai Ho trust in the Santa Cruz area.
However, the Jai Ho trust is very clear that though the children and their family can move into the flat, the ownership of the flat will be passed on to the children only when they complete their education.
In the last month, the children and their families were thrown onto the streets after the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai demolished their shanties, terming them unauthorised.
Following the demolition, a shocked Danny Boyle, the director of the movie, and its producer Christian Colson rushed to Mumbai this week to look into the situation and make arrangements for permanent homes for the two children.
