BANGALORE: Women and Child Welfare Minister, C C Patil on Friday said that the Government is planning to construct a big adventure park on 36 acres of land belonging to Bal Bhavan at Somanahalli in the city.After inaugurating the recently developed Children’s Traffic Park at Bal Bhavan, Patil said, “Though the land is with the Bal Bhavan, the approach road to the land is being encroached by some local land sharks.We have instructed the DC to clear the encroachments and we will start the work on the adventure park, which will the first of its kind in the city, very soon.” Patil also said that the department is formulating programmes to throw open the facilities at Bal Bhavan to orphans and students from poor families.The department is making plans to provide, free to and fro transportation facilities, to government school students to help them visit Bal Bhavan during week days, to participate in the educational programmes and use the recreation facilities in it.On the sidelines of the function, Patil said that the Government will release the money for issuing Bhagyalakshmi Bonds, after the ongoing inquiry into the irregularities that is committed, while sending the list of applicants, is completed.Primary Education Minister, Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri said that the Primary Education Department would involve Jawhar Bal Bhavans in educational programmes.
