THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SSLC examination this year will be held from March 12 to 24 at 2,758 centres. Around 4,70,000 students are sitting for the exam, which is 11,000 more compared to last year’s figures. The review meeting of the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) in Education here discussed the conduct of the SSLC examination in detail. There will be 10 centres in the Gulf region and nine centres in Lakshadweep. The IT practical examinations will be held from February 22 to March 5. The scheme finalisation camp will be held from March 27 to 30. There will be 54 centres for valuation which will be held from April 2 to 20. At the same time, tabulation works will begin at the Pareeksha Bhavan from April 3. The review meeting hoped that like the past year the results of the SSLC examination would be out by April second week this time also. Since the textbooks for Class X are new this year, an awareness of the question patterns should be given to the students, teachers organisations demanded. The Government School Teachers Association (GSTA) suggested that awareness on model question papers must be given to students through VICTERS Channel or as pamphlets. The meeting was chaired by the Education Secretary. It was attended by DPI, Education Department officials and teachers’ organisations.
