NEW DELHI: A delegation of AIADMK MPs on Wednesday met Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid, demanding that Legislative Council in Tamil Nadu should not be revived. The MPs refused to speak after the meeting at Khurshid’s residence in the capital, but sources said that the team submitted a a representation to the Law Minister pressing their demand. In their representation to the minister, the AIADMK Parliamentarians are learnt to have pressed for repeal of law on revival of Legislative Council in the state. The delegation was led by AIADMK leader in Rajya Sabha, V Maitreyan. The DMK, a partner in the UPA coalition, has been pressing for the revival of Legislative Council in the state. The Central Government is expected to take a decision on the revival of the Legislative Council in the State soon. The Union Law Minister also refused to comment on the meeting with the AIADMK MPs.
