KOCHI: Supplyco National Employees Association (SNEA) state secretary K Surendran on Sunday said that the association would highlight the problems faced by the employees of the Civil Supplies Corporation before the state government.Addressing a meeting here, Surendran said that the state government must implement the service rules as per the Companies Act to end the prevailing disparities, which deny equal opportunities to workers. He demanded that the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation Recruitment/ Promotion Rules- 2006, for the Corporation employees, should be implemented immediately.According to the rule, 50 per cent of the promotion posts meant for the Corporation employers should be allowed.Surendran said that the members of the Civil Supplies Corporation who have finished their probationary period should receive an immediate promotion. The employees of the Civil Supplies Corporation do not receive the benefits as per the Companies Act unlike those of other Corporations such as Beverages Corporation, Kerala State Electricity Board and Kerala Water Authority. The Employees Provident Fund scheme for the Corporation employees was not properly implemented, he added. The SNEA members would go on an indefinite strike if their demands are not met before Onam.
