New Delhi: Apparently depressed over being dropped out of school for not paying the fees, a teenager on Friday committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Uttam Nagar in west Delhi.
Aljin Varghese, a student of class VIII in Adarsh Public School, was found hanging in his room at around 9:00 am on Friday in Group-A Janta Flats of Hatshal area.
His family claimed that the boy was depressed over not being able to go to school since February 5 as he was dropped out of the school by authorities for not depositing the required fees.
Police said his mother Neelima Varghese was working with Adarsh public school and he was pursuing his education there free of cost. Recently, she joined a hospital as a nurse.
Since his mother left the job, Aljin's parents could not deposit the fees and he was dropped out.
Police said a suicide note was recovered from the deceased in which he had reportedly sought apologies from his parents for his act.
Police have launched an investigation into the case.
