KOCHI: They dress like gentlemen and behave like princes. But their looks could not deceive the Kerala Railway police which nabbed them from the North Railway Station here on Monday evening.According to the police, five persons belonging to Haryana were arrested on charges of stealing valuables of passengers from AC coaches in various long-distance trains.The five used to dress formally and board long distance trains on general tickets. Later they bribe the ticket examiners and manage to get AC tickets. The modus operandi of the gang was to target the passengers who are asleep. The arrested are Kulwand, Parveen, Pradeep, Sathyavan and Pruthvee Singh. They were arrested by a team of Railway police led by DySPs Jayaprasad and M N Sunil.The police said that several theft cases were pending against them at various railway police stations in the country.The gang used to steal only cash and gold ornaments, police added.
