Three die, 4 injured in road mishap

KEONJHAR: Three persons died and four sustained critical injuries in a road mishap at Thakurdihi under Sadar police limits on Sunday morning. Police said a goods-laden truck, which was on its way to Mumbai from Kolkata, rammed a pick-up van killing the three occupants of the van on the spot. While two of the deceased have been identified as Purnachandra Ghana and Hadibandhu Dehury, identity of the third person is yet to be ascertained. Purnachandra worked as peon in Bayakumutia panchayat office and Hadibandhu belonged to Talakaipur village of Banspal block.Those injured are Nila Munda, Dibakar Dehury, Parasu Mohata and Laxmana Munda of Banspal block. They have been admitted to a local hospital. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the driver and helper of the truck who managed to flee immediately after the accident.
