New Delhi: Three new cases of swine flu were reported in India on Wednesday taking the total number of cases reported to 112, a statement said.
One person each in Delhi, Bangalore and Gurgaon tested positive for H1N1 infection.
"The case in Delhi is of an 11-year-old male child who travelled from Munich via Dubai and reached Delhi June 26. On June 30, since he was having fever and cough, he reported at the identified health facility where he is admitted," a statement issued by the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the statement: "The case in Bangalore is of a 29-year-old male passenger travelling from Changsha, China to Bangalore June 28. He reported at the identified health facility June 30 with symptoms of fever and cough."
The third case in Gurgaon was of an 11-year-old girl, who travelled from Chicago, USA to Delhi by American Airlines reaching New Delhi June 28. On June 30 she reported with symptoms of cough and sore throat at the identified health facility where she is admitted.
So far 769 persons have been tested of which 112 tested positive for Influenza A H1N1. Of the 112 positive cases, 74 have been discharged.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has reported 70,893 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza A H1N1 infection from 116 countries as on June 29, 2009. There have been 311 deaths.
