Traders in the state will down shutters of their establishments from 4 p.m. on Tuesday, in protest against the power tariff hike declared by the government recently. The call for the close down has been given by the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi.
Protest marches and public meets would be held in all grama panchayats, municipalities and Corporation limits, said Samithi state vice-president Peringamala Ramachandran.
The protest is against the backdrop of the reality that, with the present exorbitant hike, neither industry nor trade could be run in the state following the power hike, he added.
A protest meet would be held at the Palayam Martyr’s Square, here.
