Traffic diversion for Twenty20 matches

CHENNAI: In view of the Champions League Twenty20 matches at M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, the police have announced that the following traffic diversions would be in force on September 24 and 28, October 2 and 4  from 2 pm to 4 pm and on October 8-9 from 6 pm to 8 pm.According to a release, during the above mentioned time, Bells Road would be made one-way with entry from Wallajah Road and no entry from Bharathi Salai. This will be made vice-versa when the match is over. No vehicle would be permitted on Wallajah Road up to Kamarajar Salai, except MTC buses and vehicles with passes. Canal Road would be made one-way with entry from Bharathi Salai and no entry from Wallajah Road.Only vehicles with passes M, P, T, W and V and MTC buses coming from Anna Salai into Wallajah Road will be allowed on Bells Road. Vehicles bearing B and R will not be allowed on Bells Road and they will be directed to park at MRTS and Pattabiram gate.Vehicles coming from War Memorial and from Gandhi Statue with passes bearing letters M, P, T, W or V only and MTC buses will be allowed through Bharathi Salai Canal Road. Other vehicles will be directed to the service road in front of PWD office for parking on Foreshore Service Road.Cars and two-wheelers without passes coming on Anna Salai will take the route via Wallajah Road, Labour Statue, Kamarajar Salai and park their vehicles on Foreshore Road.Vehicles coming from War Memorial will take the route via Kamarajar Salai service road in front of PWD office and park their vehicles on Foreshore Road.Vehicles coming from Gandhi Statue will take the route via Kamarajar Salai, take the service road opposite PWD park and park their vehicles on Foreshore Road.The police have made parking arrangements for vehicles with passes at the following places: Victoria Hostel, Warden Hostel, TNCA car park, Pavilion, MCC, MRTS Basement parking and Pattabiram gate, while vehicles without car passes could park on Marina service road.
