New Delhi: The custody of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Syed Abdul Karim alias Tunda ends on Tuesday. The Delhi Police, who arrested Tunda on Saturday, will seek his further remand. Sources in Delhi Police claimed that Tunda has admitted to being in regular contact with former ISI chief Hamid Gul.

Tunda's arrest has come as a major boost to the Indian security agencies with the Delhi Police claiming that he was in contact with LeT chief Hafiz Saeed, who masterminded the deadly November 2008 carnage in Mumbai, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and Dawood Ibrahim.

The sources said Tunda was linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammed, HUJI and Tehreek-e-Taliban. He also allegedly knows about terror activities in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal.

Sources said NIA, RAW, IB are likely to interrogate Tunda. Anti-terrorism squads of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Andhar Pradesh also want to interrogate him, the sources said.

Tunda was wanted in more than 40 bombings across North India. The Delhi Police said on Saturday that Tunda was carrying a Pakistani passport at the time of arrest near the Indo-Nepal border.

Police said Tunda is known as the bomb expert in the LeT circle and played a major role in 1993 Bombay serial blasts, Delhi bomb blasts of 1997-98 and serial bombings in Uttar Pradesh and also at Panipat, Sonepat, Ludhiana, Hyderabad etc.

Police said Tunda had trained indoctrinated youngsters in preparing bombs with locally available materials like urea, nitric acid, potassium chloride, nitrobenzene and sugar, and planting them at crowded places to cause maximum casualties.
