Two Nepalese nationals were arrested with body parts of the endangered musk deer in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, forest officials said on Saturday.

Two Nepalese nationals were arrested with body parts of the endangered musk deer in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, forest officials said on Saturday.

On a tip-off, Yamraj Adhikari and Dilbahadur, who hail from Nepal's Jumla region, were held late last night near Joshimath area by the forest department officials, they said.

Hair and teeth of musk deer were recovered from their possession.

The two were coming from Flower Valley area of the National Park, when they were arrested, officials said.

During interrogation, they told that they had already sold the musk of the deer to a local businessman.

The duo was booked under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act and remanded in 14-day judicial custody by the local CJM court, they said.
