Police refuse to say if the man and the woman were related to each other.

Noida: In a bizarre discovery on Monday morning, two dead bodies were found hanging from a tree outside a police picket in Delhi’s suburb of Noida.

The man has been identified as Pappu Katiyar while the identity of the woman is still unknown.

Police claim the couple were residents of a nearby village but refused to say if they were related.

There’s no word on the possible reasons for the deaths.

“We are trying to identify the deceased. The driving license was in the name of Pappu Katiyar, a resident of Ashok Nagar locality of Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh), but we need more information,” said Special Superintendent of Police, AK Singh said.

"The bodies have been sent for autopsy. Police in Pilibhit have been informed and attempts are being made to get more information about the background of the man," Kumar was quoted as saying by agencies.

"Fingerprints from the electric pole have been taken and are being examined minutely. Other forensic evidence is also being collected from the spot, including the tree where the woman was found hanging. The distance between the tree and the electric pole is around five to seven metres," he added.
