Two brothers of ex-DMK minister detained

CHENNAI: Two brothers of former DMK Minister K P P Samy, who have been arrested in a 2006 murder case, were today detained under the stringent Goondas Act, police said here today.K P Shankar and K P Chokkalingam were detained under the Act on the orders of Chennai City Greater Police Commissioner J K Tripathy", a police press release here said.The two, along with the former minister and six others had recently been arrested in connection with the murder of Chelladurai in 2006.The three -- K P P Samy, K P Shankar, K P Chokkalingam and six other accused are currently lodged in Central Prison at Vellore and Puzhal.Shankar and Chokkalingam were involved in various criminal cases like kidnapping, murder and landgrabbing, the release added.
