MADIKERI: Two members of a family were killed and three others injured when their Maruti van collided with a KSRTC bus at Ponnampet on Sunday afternoon. The injured were shifted to Mysore after being treated in Ponnampet hospital.
According to Ponnampet police, the incident occurred at Mugutageri (2 km from Ponnampet) when family members of Mammu Haji of Cheriyaparambu village of Madikeri taluk were on their way to Manandavadi in Kerala via VirajpetPonnampet. The van was coming from Kutta towards Gonikoppa. The deceased have been identified as driver Ibrahim (32) and his wife Shafila (30), and the injured are Ummar (29) from Bethu village and Siraj (32) of Cheriyaparambu. The couple's threemonthold baby had survived and was shifted to Mysore Hospital.
