An undertrial on Saturday managed to escape from court premises in Rajasthan's Barmer district when he was taken there for hearing in a murder case.

The 25-year-old prisoner, Kanwara Ram, was under trial in a murder case, Kotwali (Barmer) police station SHO Kailash Meena said.

"Ram pushed the security personnel escorting him on the court premises and managed to flee," the SHO said.

"Three or four of his accomplices were waiting for him outside the court premises, and they fled in a pick-up van," he said.

Police teams had been formed to nab the accused and his accomplices, the SHO added.
