US Open 2015: Beware of the SABR Federer
SABR or 'Serve Attack by Roger' is what the tennis legend's team has named his 'sneak attack' on the opponent's serve.

Those to play or have already played Roger Federer this year at the ongoing US Open are by now well aware of the latest weapon in the 17-time Grand Slam-winner's arsenal - it's christened the SABR.

SABR or 'Serve Attack by Roger' is what the tennis legend's team has named his 'sneak attack' on the opponent's serve where the Swiss charges to return on the run. At times, he almost takes the serve close to half-volley to surprise his opponents.

Reportedly, Federer tried the SABR on practice courts at the Cincinnati Masters before perfecting it and developing a liking for it to use in competitive matches.

However, the SABR will be in for a tough test during Federer's fourth-round meeting with home favourite, big-serving John Isner.

"I don't know. Call it 'Fed-Attack', call it whatever you want, but I thought it was kind of funny," the legend had said during the course of his quest for an 18th Grand Slam in the US.
