Waiting for that item number
Waiting for that item number
Many actresses are still waiting for that magical item number, even though they are already being cast in better roles.

Mumbai: Sameera Reddy, Koena Mitra and Isha Koppikar all started their career in Bollywood with just one item number and have now graduated to doing full fledged roles in films.

But CNN-IBN Correspondent Somen Mishra found out on the sets of Harry Baweja's new film, that there are many who are still waiting for that magical item number, even though they are already getting better roles.

Actress Aarti Chhabria is trying hard to get her dance steps right for Harry Baweja's new film Teesri Aankh -- The Hidden Camera.

Unlike many newcomers so far she has not donned the role of an item girl in any movie but is trying hard to correct that. After all, even for Teesri Aankh, someone else was performing the item number and Aarti was just lucky to get a chance to showcase her dancing skills.

"I love dancing and the moment i heard the song I wished I could dance on it. So I started dancing to it and suddenly Harry ji was like, get on the stage and let's see how you do it and I was like wow. That's how I got the break," says she.

Teesri Aaankh deals with the topic of invasion of privacy and how the use of the hidden camera has become a full fledged industry.

Though writer-producer Mahesh Bhatt also dealt with a similar theme in Kalyug, producer-director Harry Baweja is unperturbed..

"We started making this movie about eight months ago and Kalyug hadn't even started then. It doesn't matter because there are more than four dozen films on terrorism and most are successful. Its how good and topical your film is," says he.

Aashish Chowdhury is paired with Aarti Chhabria and also gets a chance to rock on the item number. The main lead in the movie are Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Neha Dhupia.
