West Bengal: Six people including two TMC leaders held with firearms
Two local Trinamool Congress leaders of Birbhum district were arrested and country made firearms and bombs were recovered from them.

Suri: Six persons including two local Trinamool Congress leaders of Birbhum district were arrested and country made firearms and bombs were recovered from them, police said.

Pralay Ghosh and Rajib Pan, local TMC leaders of Khayrasole area of Birbhum district were arrested along with four others when they were travelling by a private vehicle, the police said.

A country made firearm and 12 crude bombs were recovered from them, police said.

Vice-president of Birbhum TMC Malay Mukherjee said "both Pralay Ghosh and Rajib Pan are local leaders of our party."

Mukherjee alleged that the police action was politically motivated.

A senior police officer said "during raid the vehicle was held and those persons were found travelling with arms and bombs."

Today the arrested persons were produced before a court in Dubrajpur.

The court remanded them to 11-days judicial custody.
