West End Story to be staged in Chennai

CHENNAI: West End Story, a musical treat, will be staged in Chennai for the first time on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 6.30 pm at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall on Harrington Road, Chetpet. It traces the British musical from the stages of London to its indelible mark on Broadway theatre.The three performers in this dynamic musical theatre show are Graham Tudor, Helen Noble and James Wolstenholme. This concert is brought to Chennai by Purple Reign Entertainment Pvt Ltd, an entertainment and event management company. Tickets are priced at `300, 500, 900 & 1,500 and are available at the venue and at Landmark outlets. Online sale is through  www.bookmyshow.comGraham Tudor is an established West End performer, having played lead roles in Mamma Mia, Grease, The Rocky Horror Show and the title role in the UK tour of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat, and Witches of Eastwick. Graham is an accomplished choreographer and brings all of his talent to West End Story.Helen Noble is a trained musical theatre performer and is best known for her role as Abby Davies in the national British TV soap Hollyoaks from 2000 to 2006. She has since appeared in various West End musicals and has made appearances on ‘celebrity special’ TV shows including Ready Steady Cook  and  The Weakest Link. In April 2006 she appeared alongside Sara Crowe in The Safari Party at Richmond Theatre and toured the UK with the same play.James Wolstenholme, a graduate of Birmingham College of Music and Drama, is the group’s arranger and musical supervisor. James has performed in touring versions of West End shows and as lead vocalist on international shows with the Rainbow Live UK tour.West End Story is the beginning of the series of international musical acts that are scheduled to be brought to Chennai under the ‘Sunday Night Out’ banner planned by Purple Reign.
