BANGALORE: As part of steps to ensure transparency in administration, Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda today inaugurated CCTV surveillance camera operations in his office at Vidhana Soudha, the state secretariat."I wanted to bring in transparency in administration. I want to start this exercise from my office itself. In the coming days, after going by the success of this experiment, the initiative will be extended to all the offices of ministers", Gowda saidAll the activities that take place in both the offices of the Chief Minister will be recorded and available on 'YouTube' and can be downloaded on mobile phones, he told reporters after inauguration of the CCTVs installed at his office at the secretariat and Home Office "Krishna."Gowda said initially only video footage will be available and later audio would be facilitated.Soon after assuming charge on August four, Gowda had said he would install CCTV cameras in his offices so that all the activities, including those issues discussed, could be recorded and put on public view.Gowda took the decision in the wake of alleged scams rocking the first ever BJP government in the South, in which his predecessor B S Yeddyurappa is one of the accused.
