BANGALORE: Unidentified miscreants duped a owner of a saree centre and her car driver and escaped with cash and gold ornaments worth about Rs 2 lakh. Vijayalakshmi, a resident of Vijayanagar, owner of Srinidhi Silks and Sarees Showroom lost her valuables.According to the police, Vijayalakshmi had come to the Police Road on BVK Iyengar Road on Thursday. She bought fruits in a shop and boarded the car.While leaving, an unidentified man asked her car driver that they had not given money for purchasing fruits. As the car driver got down and engaged in an argument with him, another man, who had already thrown currency notes on the road told Vijayalakshmi that her money had fallen down.As she alighted the car to pick the currencies, the miscreant escaped with the bag, which had cash and gold ornaments. The duo realised that they were conned only after they returned to the car. Later, she filed a complaint in Cottonpet police station in connection with the incident.
