Xiaomi Mi Power Banks to officially go on sale on Flipkart next week; no pre-registration necessary
The 10400mAh model of the Xiaomi Mi Power Banks is listed on Flipkart at Rs 999, while the 5200mAh model carries a price tag of Rs 799.

New Delhi: The much-awaited Mi Power Banks will go on sale in India via Flipkart next week, said Manu Jain, Xiaomi's India head, during a conversation with IBNLive. Two variants of Xiaomi Mi Power Bank, are currently listed on Flipkart as "coming soon." Update: The products are now available for pre-order.

Though there are other online websites selling the Xiaomi Power Banks, the company is officially making them available via Flipkart in India.

Clearing the confusion whether the Xiaomi power banks would also require pre-registration like the much-discussed Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone, Jain said that because the power banks are categorised as accessories, they would be directly available on sale and prospective buyers would not need to go through any registration process.

The 10400mAh model is listed on Flipkart at Rs 999, while the 5200mAh model carries a price tag of Rs 799. Curiously the Mi 10400 Power Bank is also on sale on Flipkart carrying a much higher - Rs 1,890 - price tag but that is being sold by a different seller on the site.

The Mi power banks have a textured anodized aluminium casing that cover the entire battery from end-to-end. They have a metallic finish, and are also water- and corrosion-resistant. According to Xiaomi, its 10400mAh variant can recharge "the Mi 3 for 2.5 full charges, the iPhone 5S for 4.5 full charges, and the iPad Mini for 1.5 charges."

Xiaomi entered the Indian market with its three new smartphones in an exclusive sales tie-up with Flipkart.
