BTS' Jin Reveals He Has Never Been Asked Out On A Date

K-pop boy band BTS, consisting of seven members, is one of the most popular bands in the world. Despite not producing new music, owing to their mandatory military enlistment, they continue to make headlines for one reason or another. The eldest member of BTS, Kim Seok-jin, better known as Jin, who was discharged from his military duties in June, recently talked about his dating life.

On the latest episode of Run Jin, a spin-off of Run BTS that airs on the band’s official YouTube channel, Jin’s unexpected confession left everyone in utter disbelief. He was joined by TXT’s Yeonjun, YouTuber Kwak Joon Bin and former UFC fighter Kim Dong Hyun in the episode. The four of them talked about various topics while trying to stay dry by avoiding speaking or acting certain forbidden things.

One of the topics of their conversation was dating, where they discussed scenarios like “Being asked out in a work group chat” or “Being serenaded with a mask dance in the middle of Hongdae.” Jin, who is known for his introverted personality, shared that he would rather be asked out in a group chat, where he would have the option of publicly refusing the proposal, than being serenaded in public, which he sees as the “absolute worst thing”.

However, the real shocker was when the 31-year-old BTS member revealed that he had never been asked out before. During the conversation, Kwak Joon Bin mentioned that he would prefer to be asked out in a group while explaining that he was never asked out. Then, Jin chipped in, saying, “I’ve never been asked out either.” The eldest BTS member’s revelations, who is also fondly known as “World Wide Handsome”, left everyone in disbelief.

Yeonjun and Kin Dong Hyun were taken aback and even asked Jin to “stop lying”. Still, he tried to explain his statement by saying, “I don’t know anyone, so I’ve never been asked out.” Further, Kwak Joon Bin remarked, “Maybe they’re too intimidated” to ask him out.

Well, Jin’s revelation shocked not only the guests on Run Jin but also his fans. The same clip was shared on X ( formerly Twitter), where the ARMY (BTS’ fandom name) responded to their idol’s claims and had a great field day. One fan wrote, “No one believes you Jin…But still, if you insist.” Another one said, “Who has the guts to ask that man out outside of his lives.”
