BTS’ RM Plays Saxophone In Red Military Band Uniform, Latest Picture Impresses ARMY

South Korean boyband BTS, enjoys a global fandom. Over the years, the septet has been entertaining their fans, the BTS Army, with several song renditions. Presently, the group is serving their mandatory 18-month-long military training in the army. The first member to get enlisted was Jin in 2022, followed by J-Hope and SUGA in 2023. The remaining four — RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin followed suit in December 2023. Although the BTS members are not directly communicating with fans, pictures and videos of the seven from the training camps often surface online. The latest member whose military photo has been circulating online is RM.

Glimpses of the BTS members in their military uniforms from the army premises are available on the official Korean military app, The Camp, reports Koreaboo. On February 15, the joy of the BTS Army knew no bounds when a photograph of RM dressed in a red military band uniform was dropped on X (formerly Twitter) by a user. A badge was strapped on his shoulder and the rapper also wore white gloves, accompanied by a navy blue peaked cap. But what caught the attention of eagle-eyed fans was the saxophone RM was holding.

In the follow-up post, the user explained that “military bans practice marching music, so they have to choose one wind instrument” like a saxophone, piccolo, or clarinet. Needless to mention, RM chose a saxophone. Fans were excited to come across the picture, expressing their eagerness to hear RM play the instrument. Apart from his excellent rapping skills, RM is also abreast with playing the guitar and the piano.

Happy that RM was in touch with his musical sensibilities, a fan commented, “Love that Joon is staying close to music even in the military.” “Thank you so much for the pic,” thanked another. Expressing their surprise a third individual asked, “When did RM learn to play the saxophone?”

In January, RM shared a picture with V stating that they had completed their basic training and were selected as two of the six Elite Graduate Trainees in the 27th Recruit Training Regiment. On February 11, RM on Weverse informed fans that he had been dispatched to his military base. The rapper also wished everyone a happy Lunar New Year.

According to BTS’ management agency BigHit Music, all the members will be reuniting again in 2025.
