Jessi On Post Plastic Surgery Struggles In K-Pop Idols Show: 'I Started Seeing Flaws In My Face'
Korean-American rapper Jessi confessed to overdoing her plastic surgeries in the new Apple TV+ documentary on the lives of K-pop idols.

Korean-American soloist Jessica Ho aka Jessi, is one of those celebrities who never hesitates to speak her mind. She has been praised for breaking several beauty standards set by Korean society and openly talking about plastic surgeries. Recently, the rapper claimed that her first surgical procedure was done without her consent.

The new Apple TV+ documentary K-Pop Idols provides a glimpse into the South Korean entertainment industry by following the stories of Jessi, nine-member boy band Cravity, and multinational girl group Blackswan. In the documentary, the Korean-American rapper revealed that she was initially forced by her agency to get plastic surgery, which triggered several insecurities within her. “The first time I got surgery, the nose job that I got, I tweaked it. But once they did that, I started seeing all the flaws in my face. And that’s when I start tweaking sh*t. So, before that, I wasn’t insecure. I started getting insecure after I got surgery, and that’s when I got out of control,” said Jessi.

She confessed to overdoing cosmetic procedures to enhance her look and boost her confidence. She said, “First time I had the lip injections, I liked. It was, like, a good size. And then I started overdoing it.” However, Jessi got a reality check when she started receiving criticism and hate for her changed looks. She mentioned that people noticed her “botchy” appearance; hence, she decided to dissolve her lip fillers.

Despite facing immense criticism, the Korean-American rapper ain’t against plastic surgery. However, she just feels that people should alter their appearances based on their wishes rather than someone forcing it on them. Highlighting the importance of self-control, Jessi added, “I believe enhancing yourself is fine. When you wanna do it, and someone’s forcing you to do it, it’s completely different. You have to know your limit, you know? And it’s really hard, to be honest, because once you start getting procedures done, little by little, you just keep finding flaws in yourself, and it’s really hard to control.”

Previously, during an appearance on Radio Star, Jessi opened up about her plastic surgeries and stated she no longer believed that the procedures were necessary. While conversing, the rapper recalled all the surgeries and treatments she underwent and later talked about her realisation of how none of it looked natural on-screen. Sharing that she was happy with how she looked, Jessi said, “I like how I am now because I’ve tried all I wanted to try and got rid of it. I like me now. I also know that I can’t be perfect.”
