Following the success of Queen of Tears, Netflix and tvN are bringing yet another charming K-drama for fans, titled Love Next Door. The first teaser earlier this week gave a glimpse of the connection between Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min’s characters, but the latest teaser dives deeper into their complex relationship. The clip shows their characters reuniting as adults, highlighting the love-hate relationship between them and the growing bond. As per Soompi, the drama follows Bae Seok-ryu, played by So-min, who is trying to turn her life around. However, to complicate things, Hae-in’s character, Choi Seung-hyo enters her life after years. He shares a troubled history with Seok-ryu due.
The new teaser opens with Bae Seok-ryu surprised to find that Choi Seung-hyo has grown taller than her. He teases her by saying, “Do you still see me as that small kid who was shorter than you? I’m already 34 now." The video then shows their ups and downs, including arguments and sweet moments, one scene even features Jung So-min hugging Jung Hae-in. The clip also introduces their close friends, Jeong Mo-eum, a paramedic and Kang Dan-ho, a journalist new to the neighbourhood, played by Kim Ji-eun and Yun Ji-on, respectively. The growing friendship among these four promises to delight viewers.
As per Netflix, “Viewers will enjoy a frenemies-to-lovers story with the undeniable chemistry between Jung Hae In (D.P.) and Jung So Min (Alchemy of Souls). With its lighthearted charm and humorous undertones, Love Next Door is set to be the next series that will make your heart flutter faster."
The upcoming series is directed by Yoo Je-won, known for his work on hit dramas like Crash Course in Romance, Hometown Cha Cha Cha and King: Eternal Monarch. The script is written by Shin Ha-eun, who previously worked on Hometown Cha Cha Cha and The Crowned Clown.
Love Next Door, the 16 episode drama featuring Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min is scheduled to premiere globally on August 17. New episodes will be available for viewers every week on Netflix.
