Dwarka Society Makes 211-foot Tall Ravana Effigy For Dussehra
The natives of the Dwarka society have claimed to have built the world's tallest effigy of the demon king Ravana.

People in most parts of the country are all set to celebrate Dussehra (Vijayadashami) on October 12. According to Local18 Uttar Pradesh, the Dwarka Sri Ramlila Society is organising the 12th Ramlila in Sub City Dwarka at Sector-10, Dwarka Near Muthoot Hospital Ground.

The natives of this society have claimed to have built the world’s tallest effigy of the demon king Ravana. This effigy is 211 feet high. The Sri Ramlila Society chairman and former Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Rajesh Gehlot said that it took the natives four months to prepare and install this structure. 40 artisans worked day and night to make this effigy of Ravana. In addition to these steps, more than Rs 30 lakh has been spent on making this effigy. Rajesh also said that these days, around 1,000 to 2,000 people come here every day to click pictures and videos.

According to Rajesh, Sri Ramlila Society chairman said that Ram Leela here starts at 8:00 pm, which then continues till midnight. He also said that Ravana Dahan will be performed around 5:00 pm on the day of Dussehra. As per the chairman, the Ravana’s effigy will be burnt on Dussehra on October 12, 2024.

For this ceremony, the chairman said that the society has also invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, as per him, till now there is no assurance that the Prime Minister will reach the venue. He said that last time also the Prime Minister had reached here. The chairman hopes that this time too, PM Modi would come here and bless the society.

As per Local18 Uttar Pradesh, the Dwarka Sri Ramlila Society natives have prepared a magnificent structure of Ravana. Every aspect of the demon king’s effigy has been constructed brilliantly. The society has also made elaborate preparations for all the guests, including the journalists arriving here to cover the Dussehra festival celebrations. Proper seating arrangements have also been made for the visitors, thus ensuring comfort level for everyone. Rajesh said that the Ravana’s structure has been constructed with iron and its outer portion, ie- clothes are prepared from velvet.
