The Third Sawan Somwar is the third Monday in the Hindu month of Sawan, known for its significance in worshipping Lord Shiva. Sawan, the fifth month in the Hindu lunar calendar, is dedicated to religious observances, particularly on Mondays, and involves fasting and rituals. This year, the third Sawan Monday falls on August 5, with the tithi of Shukla Pratipada lasting until 6:30 pm, after which the Dwitiya Tithi will commence.
Observing a fast on this auspicious day is believed to fulfil personal desires, including finding a suitable partner and resolving marital issues. Devotees also believe that fasting and worshipping Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati bring good fortune and success, as well as relief from ailments and suffering.
