High Drama as SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Stopped by Cops During 'Padyatra' to UP Assembly
Responding to the 'Padyatra' led by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, CM Yogi Adityanath said, "all the questions of the opposition will be answered during the Monsoon Session of the UP Assembly."

High drama on the streets of Lucknow on day one of the UP Assembly Session after the Samajwadi Party Chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav was stopped by cops during his ?Padyatra? to the UP Assembly on Monday in Lucknow. The SP Chief along with his MLAs and MLCs were enroute the UP Assembly from Samajwadi Party office in Hazratganj area when cops stopped them. The SP leaders immediately staged a sit-in protest over the police action.

Police officials alleged that the SP leaders hadn?t taken permission, but were nevertheless assigned a designated route which wouldn?t have caused traffic congestion, but claimed that the leaders refused to take that. ?We?ve no option but to stop them here. If they take the designated route, there won?t be a problem,? Jt CP(Law & Order)Piyush Mordia said.

The Samajwadi Party MLAs and MLCs had gathered at the SP headquarters earlier this morning from where the group began their march to the UP Assembly led by SP Chief and Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav. The group of SP lawmakers led by Akhilesh Yadav were scheduled to enter the UP Assembly from gate number one.

Commenting on the march, UP Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath said, ?all the concerns and questions of the opposition party will be resolved during the Monsoon session of the UP Assembly. Deputy CM KP Maurya too responded and said, ?SP?s protest is not related to the benefit of common people. If they want to discuss this, they are free to do it in the Assembly. Our govt is ready for discussions. SP is jobless now, they?ve nothing to do. Such protests will only create problems for people.?

Few days ago, the SP Chief and party leaders were put under house arrest after they announced a protest at the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh inside the UP Assembly. After which SP Chief announced that he along with his MLAs will walk to UP Assembly to raise their voices on several issues.

As the Monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh assembly is set to begin today, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday dedicated September 22 as a special day for women MLAs of both the Houses of the state Legislature, the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. The UP Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing members of the BJP and allies on the eve of the Monsoon session.

The session on September 22 will have 47 women MLAs speaking on various issues. The Chief Minister has urged the female members to speak on Mission Shakti and other programmes of the state government for the safety, respect and self-reliance of the women of the state during the special session.

Calling for members of the ruling party to maintain discipline, the CM said that all members of the Legislature should present their views and back their statements with facts for creating public awareness.
