Superstar Salman Khan is known to help his friends in the industry. After launching yesteryear actor Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj Pancholi in Hero and his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in LoveYatri, he is all set to launch Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Ashwami in Bollywood.
This comes merely three months after Salman announced that he’d be launching Mohnish Bahl’s daughter Pranutan in films. He recently revealed the date of her debut film, which is titled Notebook. It is slated to release on March 29, 2019.
Meanwhile, confirming the news, Manjrekar told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, Salman is launching my daughter. It will happen in some time. We’ll cross the bridge when we get to it.”
“We have always bonded well. Salman in the most rooted person I have come across, a complete middle-class man in his head. He knows that I am not in awe of him, and that makes our bond special.” He also described Salman as the ‘most warm-hearted person in the industry,” he added.
Salman and Manjrekar were to work together on the Hindi remake of his Marathi directorial Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho. With Manjrekar as the director and Govinda as the lead, Salman was to produce the film. However, Govinda refused the part and the film—which has a subject similar to Irrfan Khan’s Hindi medium—never got made.
Meanwhile, Manjrekar will next be seen as a cricket coach in Netflix’s Selection Day. He will also star in Vasan Bala’s upcoming film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, which marks the debut of Bhagyashree’s son Abhimanyu Dassani.
