All About Bujji, The AI-powered Car In Kalki 2898 AD

With Prabhas’ highly anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD nearing its release, promotions intensify, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to pique the interest of movie buffs. Recently, they introduced a unique character from the film. Identified as Bujji, the adorable, tiny, sharp-mouthed robot is being dubbed Bhairava’s (portrayed by Prabhas) best friend.

Posting a sneak peek of the AI-powered car on YouTube, Vyjayanthi Movies wrote, “Darlings…In life, you meet people for the first time only once. World, meet Bujji."

The 57-second clip introduces the audience to the futuristic car, which is loaded with modern technologies and is capable of being used during wars. The video also shows that Bujji can speak in a human voice, the voiceover of which has been done by national award-winning South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh.

Packed with action scenes, the Kalki 2898 AD teaser promises to tickle the funny bones of movie buffs with the hilarious dialogue delivery between Bhairava and Bujji. Earlier, the production house shared a video on their X account that showed developers describing him as a “very smart, exciting, and tough" addition to the film. Nag Ashwin mentioned that the robotic car is controlled by the brain.

Sharing about how the dream of a futuristic car Bujji got its wings, Anand Mahindra wrote, “Fun stuff does indeed happen on X. We’re so proud of Nag Ashwin and his tribe of filmmakers who aren’t afraid to think big…and I mean REALLY big. Our team in Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai helped the Kalki team realise its vision for a futuristic vehicle by simulating the powertrain configuration, architecture, and performance."

“In fact, the vehicle runs on two Mahindra e-motors powering the rear spherical wheel! And Jayem Automotive put it all together…Let the games begin," he added.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD features an ensemble cast of names like Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. It is a multilingual film, produced by C Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. Touted as the biggest Indian film of the year, the magnum opus earned massive global acclaim after its groundbreaking debut at San Diego Comic-Con last year.

The music is being composed by Santhosh Narayanan, and the editing is done by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The film is all set to hit the silver screens on June 27.
