Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor’s on-screen chemistry in the Stree 2 song “Khoobsurat” has captivated audiences, sparking fan theories of a crossover love triangle involving Stree, Bhediya, and Kriti Sanon. While speculation is rife, Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik recently shared his thoughts on whether a romantic storyline between Bhaskar, Anika, and Stree could come to fruition.
In a conversation on Men of Culture, Kaushik was asked if there could be a love story between Varun Dhawan’s character Bhaskar from Bhediya and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree, as hinted in the song from Stree 2. Kaushik responded, “Yes, there is a dialogue that Varun says: ‘wo bhi powerful, main bhi powerful.’” The host followed up by asking, “Is it serious? Aage chal ke kuch ho sakta hai?” To which Kaushik cryptically replied, “Dekho, ho bhi sakta hai, nahi bhi ho sakta hai.”
The interviewer speculated further about a potential love triangle, noting that Rajkummar Rao’s character is mortal, whereas Stree is a supernatural force. There’s also the possibility that Kriti Sanon’s character or someone new could intervene, creating further complications.
Meanwhile, Stree 2 is generating significant buzz as part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, securing a spot as one of the top films of 2024 with impressive box office performance. Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya (2022) plays a key role in this universe and is already set for a sequel, keeping fans eager to see how the stories will connect.
In an earlier interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rajkummar Rao was asked about the potential for Stree 3, to which he revealed that director Amar Kaushik already has a basic concept. He expressed optimism about its production and promised it would be even better than the first two installments.
In Stree 2, alongside Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee return to play key roles. The film recently completed its 50 days run at the box office.
