Bollywood actor Anupam Kher reacted to the news that fake notes featuring his face were recovered in Gujarat. For the unversed, Ahmedabad Police recovered the notes worth Rs 1.60 crore. In videos surfaced, Anupam’s face was seen on Rs 500 notes instead of Mahatma Gandhi’s face. The notes also featured ‘Resole Bank of India’ instead of ‘Reserve Bank of India’. Videos of the currency notes have gone viral on social media.
Anupam also shared the video of a report about the fake notes recovery and said in Hindi, “Lo kar lo baat. My photo instead of Gandhiji’s photo on the five hundred rupee note???? Anything can happen!” Check out his post below:

The Indian Express reported that the notes were recovered after a bullion firm owner, Mehul Thakkar, was duped for Rs 1.60 crore. A case has been registered against unidentified persons in Ahmedabad. As per the report, Mehul Thakkar told the police that a few people wanted to buy 2100 grams of gold and wanted it delivered to the city’s Navrangpura area. He sent the gold via his employee, who handed over the gold to the two accused, and in return, received a plastic cover. They claimed the cover was filled with cash worth Rs 1.3 Cr.
The accused people excused themselves by claiming that they were off to arrange the remaining Rs 30 lakhs from an adjoining shop and ran. The fake notes were discovered by one of the employees of the bullion firm. The police is investigating the case.
