Punjabi singer AP Dhillon has been receiving backlash from netizens after he broke his guitar on Coachella stage. Check out the viral video here.

Punjabi singer AP Dhillon delivered a power-packed performance at Coachella 2024. However, one of his gestures of breaking the guitar after finishing his act hasn’t gone down well with netizens. The singer has been receiving a huge backlash on social media for “disrespecting” the musical instrument. In a video, shared by AP on his official Instagram handle, the singer is seen breaking his guitar to mark the end of his stellar performance, but his gesture netizens disappointed.

The singer took to his Instagram handle and posted the video which has offended a section of the internet. He captioned his post as, “BROWN MUNDE HAVE LEFT THE DESERT (desert emoji).” While the crowd went wild, online audience was not impressed by AP. A netizen commented, “Respect the things which brought you to this stage, It’s completely your and your loss.” Another user wrote, “That is what makes Diljit (Dosanjh) different from others. (heart emoji)” A user also commented, “And you think doing this looked good?” “Why just why did you have to do that?” Another user asked.

While AP Dhillon is among the participants, Coachella 2024’s headliners are Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Tyler, the Creator and No Doubt. Others listed to perform at the festival include Peso Pluma, Blur, J Balvin, Ice Spice, Sublime, Lil Uzi Vert, Grimes, Victoria Monet, Jon Batiste, Bleachers, Justice, Deftones and Lil Yachty. This is the 23rd year of Coachella.

This year, the valley festival is taking place on the second and third weekend of April. The festival returns to its home ground, Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, Calif.

Last year, Coachella was a memorable affair courtesy of the headliners Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK and Frank Ocean. Fans across the globe also went gaga as they watched Diljit Dosanjh perform. The Udta Punjab star became the first Punjabi singer to perform at Coachella. Diljit performed some of his biggest hits and had everyone in the crowd, including acclaimed musician Diplo, on their feet.

Besides Diljit, popular Pakistani singer-composer Ali Sethi also made his debut at the festival. The renowned singer sang his hit song, Pasoori, with Raja Kumari by his side.
