AP Dhillon JUSTIFIES Breaking Guitar At Coachella 2024: 'I Am Out of Control'
On Tuesday, singer Rahul Vaidya also condemned AP Dhillon's act and called it "unfortunate".

AP Dhillon recently performed at the Coachella 2024 when he left a large section of audience disappointed by breaking a guitar on stage. While the singer has been facing a lot of backlash for the same, he seems to have now justified his act. On Wednesday, Dhillon took to his Instagram handle and shared a series of pictures from his Coachella performance.

One of the photos also featured the ‘Excuses’ singer breaking the guitar on stage. He also dropped a video in which several other international artists were seen doing the same act on stage during their respective performances. In the caption of his post, AP Dhillon wrote, “The media is controlled and I’m out of control.” Check it out here:

However, AP’s post only left netizens even more disappointed. “You’re justifying wrong things brother. Are you even remembering your culture of how we treat musical instruments? That guitar was the one you held it for your show and it produced the vibration you wanted. After that destroying it was the coolest thing? This is an act of a fool,” one of the users wrote. “Didn’t like guitar breaking act ,” added another.

On Tuesday, singer Rahul Vaidya also condemned AP Dhillon’s act and called it “unfortunate”. “Unfortunate behaviour! In our culture, we are taught to worship stage and musical instruments.. and this Punjabi artist who hails from Punjab is copying this old western style of breaking guitars on stage! Sad. AP don’t forget your roots brother!” he wrote.

While AP Dhillon is among the participants, Coachella 2024’s headliners are Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Tyler, the Creator and No Doubt. Others listed to perform at the festival include Peso Pluma, Blur, J Balvin, Ice Spice, Sublime, Lil Uzi Vert, Grimes, Victoria Monet, Jon Batiste, Bleachers, Justice, Deftones and Lil Yachty. This is the 23rd year of Coachella.

Last year, Diljit Dosanjh also performed at the Coachella and created history by becoming the first Punjabi singer to perform at the mega show. Diljit performed some of his biggest hits and had everyone in the crowd, including acclaimed musician Diplo, on their feet.
