Both Aparshakti Khurana and his brother Ayushmann Khurrana have been successful in the entertainment industry. But beyond their profession, they have a very strong bond with each which the fans see glimpses of through social media. Both actors appreciate each other’s achievements, and Aparshakti’s respect for his elder brother is quite evident. Recently, at the screening of Aparshakti’s latest film Berlin, he was seen bending down to touch Ayushmann’s feet. The act gained the attention of social media users who lauded the Stree 2 actor for his “sanskars”.
In a recent interview with Digital Commentary, Aparshakti Khurana opened up about his relationship with Ayushmann Khurrana and how the tradition of touching his feet came into existence. The actor said his relationship with Ayushmann is the “old school Ram-Lakshman” kind. Sharing a childhood anecdote, he stated that after a fight, their father imposed a rule that Aparshakti must touch his older brother’s feet every morning.
He recalled, “Hum khel rahe the to mere muh se koi gaali nikal gayi aur uss din bahut pitai huyi. Pitai ke baad uska jo overall conclusion tha woh ye nikla ki aaj ke baad tum bhaiya bulaoge aur subah roz uthkar pair haath lagaoge tabhi hi tum iss ghar mein reh sakte ho warna nahi reh sakte. (when we were playing, we got into a fight, and I abused him, that day I was beaten up a lot. After that, the conclusion was that from this day on, you will call him bhaiya and every morning you will touch his feet, and that is the only way you can stay in this house, or you can’t stay in this house.)”
He added that when people are young, they don’t really know how to speak with their older brother or respect them, but this incident instilled that value in him. The actor believes that once you start having such a relationship, there will be less reason to fight or have a quarrel since you will not be able to yell at them and will not say anything negative.
Meanwhile, Aparshakti’s latest thriller film helmed by Atul Sabharwal released on Zee5 on September 13. It also stars Ishwak Singh, Rahul Bose, Anupriya Goenka, and Kabir Bedi in prominent parts. The plot of the film is set in 1990s New Delhi, which was politically volatile. Aparshakti plays Pushkin Verma, who is hired by Jagdish Sondhi played by Rahul Bose to assist the authorities in a case involving a deaf-mute young man who has been arrested on suspicion of being a foreign spy.
