Ananya Panday has faced significant criticism from the audience since her Bollywood debut, amid ongoing trolling and debates about nepotism. Despite these challenges, the actress has gradually established herself in the industry and secured several popular projects. Recently, Bhavana Pandey, Ananya’s mother, shared her feelings about the constant criticism her daughter endures and its impact on her.
In an interview with Indian Express, Bhavana Pandey was asked how difficult it is as a mother to have her child scrutinised for everything from films to clothes. She admitted, “It is very difficult, and you feel really bad and hurt.” While acknowledging that Ananya chose a career open to public judgment and accepting that people will react, Bhavana emphasised, “I think unnecessary criticism is not okay. Constructive criticism is always better, and that makes everyone better.”
Bhavana Pandey has gained recognition through her appearance on the show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. However, in a recent interview, she mentioned that despite having her own identity now, she loves being called “Ananya’s mother.”
In a previous conversation with Hindustan Times, Ananya Panday expressed gratitude towards her mother, Bhavana Pandey, crediting her for unwavering support throughout her career journey. Ananya emphasised, “She (Bhavana Pandey) was involved when I started my career as an actor, I needed her. I would be lost if my mom was not there to help me.”
Ananya Panday was most recently seen in Netflix’s Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, opposite Sidhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. Up next, the actress is gearing up for her debut web series, Call Me Bae. Along with her, the show will feature an ensemble cast that includes Mini Mathur, Gurfateh Pirzada, Vir Das, Vihaan Samat, Varun Sood, Muskkkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt and Lisa Mishra.
On the other hand, Bhavana Pandey’s show Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives is gearing up for its third season. The show also starred Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Soni, and Seema Sajdeh for the past two seasons. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor’s daughter will make her debut in the forthcoming season. Along with her, the series will include entrepreneur Kalyani Saha Chawla and philanthropist Shalini Passi as well.
